Work Space

While being a little under the weather today with this weird recurring stomach ache, I found myself sitting on the couch sketching ideas for an upcoming project.  I then became aware of how much I love my work space (the couch most certainly qualifies as workspace too!).  In the blogging/Internet world, people often primp and perfect the frames of photos and videos (myself included).  We crop out the bad and keep the good in order to create an image that falls into the vision we want to portray.  Trying the break away from that, here are some honest photos of my workspace in it's natural state.  In many ways, it's more beautiful untidy and honest than clean and perfect.

There once was a Kitten...

As it begins to cool down around here, I'm preparing for winter with some new handwear. Every year, I often plan on making a new pair of mittens, but I never can finish them up before the winter season is over.  I hope to have these new thrum mittens finished by the time the snow falls.  Luckily, the red mittens are ready for the brisk fall months.

Every year I look forward to fall because it is the prime time for staying in and knitting (total shut in!).  However, I am a bit sad the summer has come to a close, with my new interest in gardening.  On the other hand, I have planted some fall veggies in my little container garden.  Mini carrots, garlic and lettuce are beginning to sprout (although some mean squirrel keeps digging up my lettuce).

Check out my nerdy video: Twill Rib Tutorial

Hey peeps!  Here's a new stitch I've learned.  Quick and simple, the way I like it!  Let me know if you have questions!

Also, Nat and I went for a late summer bike stroll, and played with acorns at one of our stops.

Happy Anniversary

Our first wedding anniversary came this past weekend!  We went camping at a nearby park in Carver, MN.  We ended up having the largest campsite and the smallest amount of gear (compared to all of the other families at the camping park).  I think they thought we were weird with our tiny tent and picnic blanket.  We're just super rustic...

Here are some photos of the trip, and a few from the wedding.  It was such a magical day, and every day keeps getting better.  I'm so lucky.

Bow 2

Finished up a little project for our friend's wedding dress.  She wanted a little silk bow to wear next week at her wedding.  So excited to celebrate with them!
